What we Do

What is it that makes Alameda Center different?

Our Vision:

The Alameda Center faculty and staff will educate all students to their fullest potential and help them become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community.

Our Mission:

Whatever it takes to help students become

respectful,

 responsible,

productive, and

successful citizens.

Our Operational Philosophy:

As Alameda Center faculty and staff members, the following beliefs guide our long range goals as well as daily interactions with students, parents, care-givers, community agencies and colleagues.

We believe that all students can learn when given opportunities, support, and encouragement in a safe, orderly, respectful and caring atmosphere.

We believe that developing respectful relationships with students is a vital step in fostering a positive educational experience.

We believe educational experiences should enable students to communicate and solve problems effectively, think critically and creatively, and act as responsible, productive members of both society and today's highly technological workforce.

We believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged and encouraged to view risk taking and mistakes as a necessary part of continuous improvement.

We believe that expectations, attitudes and efforts directly affect the performance of all people.

We believe in creating an atmosphere of acceptance, enthusiasm,  and an appreciation of diversity and individual differences.

We believe that instruction and assessment must be differentiated to meet the individual needs of students.

We believe that by creating professional learning communities teachers can improve teaching and learning.

We believe in making research  and data a part of the decision making process driving both academic instruction and professional  involvement.

We believe educators make a difference in students lives.
